Project Title:
Identification of molecular alteration involved in the genesis of chronic myeloproliferative diseases by Next Generation Sequencing
The Genomic Core Lab of the Center for Genome Research of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia is a part of AGIMM (acronym of AIRC-Gruppo Italiano Malattie Mieloproliferative) represents a group of italian scientists who, thanks to AIRC 5 per 1000 fundings, joined together in a research programme focused on "classic" chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms. These disorders, which are characterized by the involvement of a multipotent stem cell of the bone marrow, include: Polycythemia Vera, Essential Thrombocytemia, Primary Myelofibrosis and Secondary Myelofibrosis following Polycythemia Vera or Essential Thrombocytemia

Project Title:
Identification of differentially expressed genes during normal and leukemic myelopoiesis
The Genomic Core Lab of the Center for Genome Research of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia is also a part of EuGESMA, that is a COST Action (BM0801) established to form a network among European clinical and science groups who actively contribute to the understanding and integration of modern genomics technologies with the aim of translating these into a clinical environment for the benefit of MDS and AML. The laboratory is currently involved in the Identification of differentially expressed genes during normal and leukemic myelopoiesis.
